Text Box: Job Seeker
In a difficult job market, excellent organization and communication skills are vital. These can certainly include carefully defining prospective employers according to a logical set of stages, the tailoring communication accordingly. Example:
 - Stranger (don’t know at all)
 - Acquaintance (at least aware of me)
 - Cool Prospect (some glimmer of activity)
 - Warm Prospect (they’re interested!)
 - Hot Prospect (in the final stages)
A database can be established accordingly, and targeted communication can be employed! As an example, if you take the time to carefully research a company’s strategy, philosophy, and key people, you can tailor communication that shows (1) you care, (2) you go the extra mile, (3) you understand research, (4) you’re innovative in a relevant way, and (5) you’re a good communicator. Can’t hurt!

Think on the Edge

In many job seeking situations, you have virtually no mathematical chance to win: too many applicants; too much chance of lacking experience, education, or inside-track vs. other competitors. Boldly stepping outside the box can generate some hope (even if slim) where, practical matter, there is none.  Tailored micro-marketing can be a key element.
